Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device really impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. For instance, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Due to the economic downturn during the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
The Bi-Energy and DC machines offered by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work environments. Where the machinery must be driven significant distances, like for example within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC equipment together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machines deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
